Langtang Trek
Langtang is a narrow valley surrounded by spectacular Himalayan peaks and glaciers. This high and isolated region lies just to the south of the Tibetan border and is inhabited by the Tamang people who's religious practices, language and dress are very similar to those in Tibet.

Allow a sensible amount of time in Kathmandu at the end of your travels to
Allow for any traveling delays prior to your International flight. Explore
Kathmandu at the end of your visit to Nepal. Insurance: expedition members are responsible for having their own travel insurance including helicopter evacuation.
Vaccinations: Nepal has no official vaccination requirements for entry. However we recommend that you visit a doctor for the latest recommendations and protect yourself accordingly.
Visa: Visa can be obtained at Tribhuvan International Airport upon arrival. You will need 2 passport size photograph.
Currency: The best currency to have is US Dollars in travelers cheques, cash and/or credit cards. American Express, MasterCard and Visa are all accepted in Nepal.
Travel with any valuable items on your body including your trekking permit. Empty your rucksack side pouches when traveling on local transport. Purchase a zipped bag to carry your pack in, especially if you are planning to do future travel on local transport.
Lugols Iodine Solution kills most water borne bugs. Its use saves money and avoids unnecessary pollution with plastic water bottles. (Available in KTM)
Sleeping bag should be packed in a waterproof bag.
Trousers/long shorts of a loose fitting and light synthetic material are best.
Please respect the local customs.
On the trails, if an animal carrying loads comes past you, stand on the inside of the trail so you don't get forced off.
Respect all religious sights and only enter if you are clear on the customs.

It is illegal to purchase any item of religious or historical content in the
mountains. Buddhist Mani walls and Chortens should be passed on the left side
(CLOCKWISE).
Take time to look after the well being of your employees (porters, etc.). It is standard practice to tip.
Be mellow and enjoy the Himalaya.
